Did you see 70-year-old woman injured in Saltburn Valley Gardens?

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 70-old-woman was allegedly pushed to the ground in Saltburn and suffered a broken shoulder.

The suspected assault happened in Saltburn Valley Gardens between around 11.20am and 11.40am on Sunday August 11.

The woman and her 72-year-old husband were walking on the path towards Cat Nab car park, with the miniature railway on their right.

It’s alleged that words were exchanged with another couple, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s which then led to the man in his 50s pushing the older couple to the ground where the victim sustained her injury.

The man in his 50s has been described as white, around 6 feet tall, with grey/white thinning hair. He was wearing a red top and shorts, possibly grey or pale in colour. The man was walking with a plastic tennis ball thrower for his dog – a description of the dog is not available.

The woman in her 40s is described as white, around 5 feet 4 inches tall and wearing jeans and a jumper.

Anyone who may have seen the incident or who can assist police with their investigation is asked to call 101, with reference 137715 and ask for PC Price-Cozens.
