Redcar Councillor accuses Tory MP’s of turning their backs on NHS heros

Speaking after a motion was voted down by Conservative MP’s yesterday to provide NHS  and Social Care staff regular Covid -19 tests in parliament, Cllr Carl Quartermain reacted angrily, he said,

“Why on earth would all Conservative MPs vote against a motion to ensure NHS and social care staff are tested for Covid-19 regularly so as not to endanger life? Even locally Jacob Young MP and Simon Clarke MP voted against this motion.

How dare they turn their backs on not only these workers we have been celebrating week after week but also jeopardising the health and life of all those people needing the service, many who have been patiently shielding while waiting to go in for vital surgery and treatments.”

Both Redcar MP,  Jacob Young and MSEC voted against providing the workers with regular Covid – 19 tests. A full list of those who voted on how MP’s voted is in the link below.
